FAQ

What is Vote Post for Friends?

Vote Post for friends is a nonpartisan project to help increase voter turnout using one of the most effective, and most fun, methods around: a personal reminder from a friend or family member. We let people sign up to send a personalized postcard with their photo, reminding friends to vote! Our very first project is in the Charlotte mayoral primary election on September 9.

Who created Vote Post for Friends?

Vote Post for Friends was created by Vote Rev Action Fund. VRAF is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization dedicated to creating and testing new tactics to encourage voting, especially among historically disenfranchised communities.

What will you use my photo and other information for?

We only use your information to send postcards to your friends and stay in touch with you about the program, or for other purposes that may be required by law. It is never sold, shared, or used for advertising or political purposes.

Your photo will be printed on the postcard sent to your friends, and not used for any other purpose.

You can our full privacy policy at votepostforfriends.org/privacy.

When will my friends and I get our postcards?

We time the postcards so they'll arrive during the last few days of early voting, just before election day. That way you'll get a reminder right when it's useful, instead of way in advance.

Can I put any photo I want on a card?

We strongly encourage you to submit a photo that shows your face, so your friends will know they're getting a card from you and not just another political flyer!

We reserve the right to not send cards where the name or photo is sexual, obscene, or depicts illegal activities. This is a nonpartisan program and so for legal reasons, we also can't send photos that show text or logos for any candidate or party (even though you're the one who chose the photo, not us!).
